Hello my friends, lately, I try not to think about how many months I have left until my wedding. Approximately 3 months, woah. So what have I been up to? I’ve been working overtime at my day job, writing exhibition reviews, got a second job, wedding planning and portrait drawing at Backscratchers Launch Party.
And I have taken a break from exhibition reviews and painting, yep. And started doodling and sketching and messing about since I am out and about so much. Turns out to be really productive and received lots of lovely feedback from people. This brought back my love for doodling.
As you might not know, when I was a kid and in high school, I doodled characters a lot – gave them names and created storyboard comics. This habit stopped when I started University and explored other materials. Lately, these doodles and drawings sparked my inspiration.
Using Instagram, I’ve been sharing my sketches, handwriting and drawings. I’m glad it quickly shares my images online- rather than cumbersome scanning and uploading. Feel free to follow me in instagram. And show me your drawings and doodles too.
What do you think? I think I’m into something here.
Oh and postman sends me something wonderful. A gorgeous print from Ping Zhu who I featured in my Pick Me Up exhibition review! Thank you so much! She’s one of my favourite illustrators and inspirations. Just love her characters. Her print proudly sits on my studio walls.
Have a lovely week my friends, thanks for reading xx
