I am guilty for neglecting my blog lately. For that please forgive me *cute face.*
Anyway, I have been working on private commission to illustrate Edgar’s Allan Poe: “The Raven.”
I have always wanted to do this, especially after watching the Simpson’s parody heehee.
Although taking it seriously, the poetry is intense and a slow burner, it builds up the suspense and leaves it to the reader’s interpretation. Many illustrators have portrayed this great piece of writing, even the great Gustave Dore, whom I’ve admired.
Here is just a quick preview of the work in progresses for this project.
From sketchbook to the final illustration, oh yea, includes the mess on my desk.
I really like WIP, really shows the journey that really makes the cycle from having a brief to the final outcome. Maybe it’s good for me to show it off, once in a while.
